Biography
Albrecht Glatzle is an Agro-Biologist with a PhD in Soil Microbiology from HohenheimUniversity, Germany. During 27 years of applied research, he worked in Botswana, Morocco and in Paraguay, mainlyin FAO and GTZ-projects. In Paraguayhe served as expert for pasture management at the Chaco Research Station during 8 years with subsequent additional 11 years as Scientific Director of the non-profit private-sector association INTTAS (http://www.chaconet.com.py/inttas/). From 1977 to 1981 and from 1985 to 1989, he was a Hohenheim Universityscientific staff member at the Institutes of Plant Nutrition and Animal Production in the Tropics and Subtropics, respectively. He authored more than 130 publications including two books on pasture management in German and Spanish language. He was awarded with the Fellowship of the Tropical Grassland Society of Australia. Since retirement he operates a cattle-station in Paraguay and acts as a consultant, with special interest in livestock-related environmental and climate-change issues.
